When a best friend become your arch enemy..

Have you ever heard of a phrase, "..It is easier to forgive an enemy than a good friends"? For me, this phrases meant a lot to me since so many things that happen around me, basically I can relate to that.
There is this particular guy. I got to know him as I enter UKM. He's such a friendly person and easy to be amazed by him. You know right, when you're spending quality time with a friend, you sometime will just make them your best friend. Share your thoughts, views, and of course your problems. They'll become a good listeners for you. Since they're the one who spend most of their time with you, surely they'll the one who knows much about you. What's your strength, weakness, likes, dislikes, loves, and hates. And if they really want to treasure their friendship with you, surely they'll protect you, defend you and again, of course they won't offend you in any way. But one day, after few years I know him, salute him, suddenly they're attitude and behavior towards me changed. He easily annoys me and make me sick of him. One day, he scolded me using foul words, and my ego got challenged. Since that day, we started to ignore each other and in fact now I won't acknowledge his presence in my life. I', not being childish for not forgiving him. But from the phrases, it's harder to forgive him rather than my arch enemy. Besides, he never admit that what happen before is because of his misunderstandings. Its kinda shitty back then. Sorry man, I know you'll make a good partner for someone in the future, but it just ain't me. I could never stop hating you for this aggressiveness you've shown, not just once, but 3 times man..
Since then, I always make a promise to myself that I'll try my best to surpass all your hopes and visions you've told me before, so that you'll regret forever that ruined our friendship, for me, for life. So long man..
